One of a series of moody still life oils that depict the moment before one element of the composition destroys the other. It’s only a food fight but I wanted to create a sense of drama. To take an otherwise normal still life and overlay it with a new narrative. The use of the light box and the title of the series add to the drama. And the single spotlight also conjures up thoughts of an impending battle. I also love the frames on these.
