White Cup, Red Pot
This is a strangely ‘normal’ still life for me. No funny business at all. I have a variety of teapots and this is my red ‘tea leaf’ pot. When it’s clean and shiny, it looks pretty good so I painted it. But I needed something to offset the red against the blue background. So I popped my enamel mug in there. The colour combination gives it a distinct French or American feel. Which is strange, because neither are a tea-drinking nation.
